Pleasant Friday, then showers & isolated storms possible Saturday
Isolated strong storm northwest of the IL river
PEORIA (25News Now) - It’s another chilly start here in central Illinois with morning temperatures back in the 40s and low 50s. Today’s highs will be a touch warmer than previous days in the upper 70s near 80 with mostly sunny skies and light winds. This evening’s forecast calls for continued quiet weather with mainly clear skies and temperatures in the low 70s around 7 PM falling into the low 60s by the end of the night.

Cloud coverage will increase overnight ahead of our next shower and storm chance arriving Saturday. A few showers will be possible throughout the first half of the day, and they should be light and scattered. Definitely worth keeping the umbrella handy just in case. Some pockets of sunshine will be possible in the afternoon, and this can provide energy for some isolated thunderstorms mainly northwest of the Illinois river. An isolated strong to severe storm is possible as well, so stay weather aware through the early evening.

As this system exits the area Sunday, a few isolated showers will be possible east of the river. Overall, not expecting a washout either day. Saturday will just trend cloudier than Sunday but both days will feature highs in the mid 70s.
