PEORIA (25News Now) - Kellar Primary School just finished up a fundraiser and to celebrate they turned the school’s principal and secretary into ice cream sundaes.

Students were challenged to raise $15,000 in direct donations and they exceeded expectations. After two weeks and more than 600 donations, the students raised $25,884.

Before she was turned into a sundae, Principal Jaime Peterson told us the money raised by students is going to classroom resources and PTO school events.

”I am so proud of them, they all worked so so hard and they are so excited,” she said. “Everything is possible. Like our seven mindsets this year. They worked so hard and I am so proud of them.”

More than 80 kids raised $100 and they get to eat lunch with Peterson.

1 student won an Amazon gift card and another is receiving a year free of Culver’s ice cream.

First place was a brother and sister duo who raised over $3,000 - they will get to ride to school in a fire truck.
