NORMAL (25News Now) - 2 people were arrested in Normal after a search warrant.
Normal Police spokesperson Officer Brad Park says Tayshuan Johnson, 18, of Bloomington, was arrested for multiple counts of unlawful use of a weapon/felon possession and unlawful use of a weapon/automatic weapon.
Park also confirmed that Johnson is the same person who was sentenced last year for bringing a loaded handgun to school.
A Normal man, 19-year-old Devin Fuller, was arrested for possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
Park says that on Tuesday, law enforcement Normal Police and the Illinois State Police obtained information regarding multiple people who were illegally possessing firearms around the 700 block of Orlando Avenue.
At around midnight Wednesday, the Normal Police Department’s emergency response unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in that block.
A firearm with an extended magazine was seized during that search. It was discovered that the firearm was stolen out of Georgia.
All charges were reviewed by the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office.
