Sunshine continues tomorrow, rain returns on Saturday

PEORIA (25News Now) - The work week is almost over, which means that our stretch of quiet weather is also almost over. We may see some rain at times this weekend, but dry weather is expected to return for most of next week.

Tonight and Tomorrow:

Mainly clear skies will continue throughout the rest of the day and overnight. It’ll be another cool morning with lows mostly in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Tomorrow’s weather won’t be too different from what we saw today, featuring mostly sunny skies and seasonably mild weather. Highs could be a few degrees warmer tomorrow compared to today, which would put us near 80 tomorrow afternoon.

This Weekend:

More clouds are on the way Friday night into Saturday ahead of a cold front that will pass through Central Illinois later in the day on Saturday. This will bring chances for showers at times during the day on Saturday.

Forecast models are advertising the possibly of two rounds of rain on Saturday.

The first round, which isn’t set in stone just yet, would move through Saturday morning into early Saturday afternoon. There is a decent amount of uncertainty in how many showers we’ll see Saturday morning, there are remaining questions about just how much rain will fall.

However, a second round of scattered showers and possibly a few storms will move through later in the day. This second round would be most probably late Saturday afternoon through Saturday night. While some could stay dry due to the scattered nature of our expected rain, the best chance for rain would come during the second round.

Dry weather is expected to return on Sunday with gradually clearing skies throughout the day. Highs will be in the mid 70s this weekend.

Next Week:

Most of next week looks dry, although we could see some additional showers late next week and into next weekend.

We’ll be warmer next week as well, especially for the second half of the week, as highs climb into the low to mid 80s.
