Wanted man found, arrested for carjacking, weapons offenses says police

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police say a wanted man was seen Tuesday and arrested on numerous weapons offenses.

Spokesperson Semone Roth says the wanted man is 20-year-old Tyrone K. Dillon, who was arrested for vehicular hijacking, unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, theft, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card an an active warrant.

Roth says that at around 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, Dillon was seen inside a vehicle in the 3400 block of West Sunburst Lane.

Officers approached and detained three people including Dillon.

A search of the vehicle found a loaded handgun and illegal drugs.

The other two were later released.
