Plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures ahead
PEORIA (25News Now) - After a few passing showers Tuesday evening, dry and clear conditions have set in across Central Illinois early this Wednesday morning. High pressure will drive the forecast for the remainder of the work week with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures on tap.
Wednesday: It’ll be a cool start to the midweek as temperatures have fell to the lower 50′s and even the upper 40′s early this morning. The commute will likely require the sweater or jacket as temperatures will remain in the 50′s through the morning commute hours. A few areas of patchy fog are possible this morning, but the fog will not be as widespread or as dense as the fog we dealt with Tuesday morning. While a few areas will see visibilities drop, it is not expected to be enough to impact any morning commute. A few lingering showers from Tuesday evening will continue ahead of sunrise, but we’ll dry out by the start of the workday.

High pressure will build to our south which will help drive to forecast for the remainder of the work week. Have the sunglasses handy, as we’ll be spoiled with sunny to mostly sunny skies the next few days. For Wednesday, temperatures will be mild with highs reaching the mid 70′s by the mid afternoon. It’ll be a gorgeous day to spend some time outdoors or head to the Morton Pumpkin Festival which kicks off this afternoon.
Rest of the Week: Our forecast will remain on repeat through Friday as high pressure remains in control. Thursday and Friday both feature mostly sunny to sunny skies as our daytime highs increase a degree or two each day. We’ll see highs in the upper 70′s by Friday, bringing us just a degree or two shy of our seasonal averages for this time of year.
