Normal woman arrested after allegedly entering Carmel, Ind., Police Department and making threatening statements
CARMEL, Ind. (25News Now) - A Normal woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after Carmel, Indiana Police say she entered the department and allegedly threatened officers and claimed to have a gun.
Police say Stephanie Abbo, 48, was arrested on preliminary charges of intimidation, intimidation by terroristic threat and attempted battery of a law enforcement officer.
Police say numerous officers, including the SWAT team responded to the department at 4:49 p.m.
A negotiator communicated with Abbo until she was taken into custody without further incident at 5:29 p.m.
Police say Abbo did not have a gun but did have pepper spray and attempted to spray officers as they were taking her into custody.
Hamilton County, Indiana online jail records indicate she was booked into the jail.
