Annual ‘Pool Days’ fundraiser intended to make big splash
LIMESTONE TOWNSHIP (25News Now) - In Limestone Township, local leaders aim to make a big splash to help pay for swimming pool maintenance.
The annual Pool Days fundraiser kicks off in Bartonville’s Alpha Park on Thursday.
The event features carnival rides and live music to raise funds needed to keep the pool open all summer.

The pool has been around for 30 years and it’s costly to maintain it, says Derek Roemer, the Limestone Township supervisor.
“With an old pool like that, it brings a lot of maintenance costs and yearly operations and chemicals are super expensive,” said Roemer.
“So without having to jack the prices up of the pool, we use this fundraiser to help offset those costs,” he said.
The event runs through Saturday.
