Isolated Showers This Afternoon, Cooler By Wednesday
PEORIA (25News Now) - Smoky skies will continue across Central Illinois for Tuesday ahead of a passing cold front. This passing cold front will bring the chance for a few isolated showers for the afternoon and evening into early Wednesday morning. Smoke will stick with us until this cold front passes.
Tuesday will be another warm day across Central Illinois with highs in the 80′s across the board. A backdoor cold front will pass throughout the afternoon and evening, brining a bit of a spread in our temperatures. Areas closer to I-80 will trend near average with highs in the lower 80′s. South of I-74, temperatures will likely reach the upper 80′s to nearly 90 degrees.

As our cold front passes, a few showers and a stray rumble of thunder will be possible. While we do carry a slight chance for rain, most of us will remain dry. A few additional showers are possible into Wednesday morning’s commute before our rain chances come to an end.

Temperatures will be mild for the midweek as we see daytime highs return to the lower 80′s. Expect air quality to improve by Wednesday afternoon and for Thursday as our cold front drives smoke out of Central Illinois. A better chance for showers and thunderstorms will return by Saturday.
