Police: 1 wounded as fight leads to gunfire in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police say a teenager was arrested for obstructing justice after a man was shot in the leg during a fight late Tuesday night.
Police said they found the victim after being called about 11:50 p.m. to the 2900 block of North Idaho Street.
Officers immediately applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, according to a news release. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
The suspected shooter reportedly fired his gun then fled the scene in a vehicle, according to police.
Using a license plate reading camera, police said they found the vehicle behind a residence in the 1200 block of West Gift Avenue.
Police said they did not find the shooter but did take into custody a 17-year-old male and two female youths.
The girls were released, while the 17-year-old male was booked for obstructing justice and taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police said they’re still investigating.
