Peoria man charged after gunfire on south side
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria County prosecutors filed felony charges Wednesday against a Peoria man for allegedly firing gunshots at another man Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday after a ShotSpotter alert indicated six rounds were fired in the 2400 block of West Antoinette Street, near South Stanley Street on the city’s south side.
No one was wounded.
Police said in a news release late Wednesday they found several shell casings near James Ogle’s home. Ogle initially refused to leave the residence, but eventually surrendered, according to police.
A search of the home turned up two guns, police said.
Ogle is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon, both felonies.
Ogle’s bond was set at $12,500, according to jail staff. His arraignment is scheduled for June 22.
