PEORIA (25News Now) - A grand jury has found local prosecutors have sufficient evidence to try a Peoria woman for the stabbing death of her former boyfriend.
Grand jurors indicted Lauraine Singleton, 41, on two counts of first-degree murder.
Authorities said James Davis, 50, was stabbed in the chest during the pre-dawn hours of May 14 at Singleton’s apartment in the 700 block of Morgan Street.
The state’s attorney’s office said the knife used in the killing was found in the apartment.
Singleton’s is being held on $1 million bond. Her arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.
