Man identified after fatal shooting Monday night

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified a man fatally shot Monday night.
Autopsy on Rick Ranson, 30, of Peoria, shows he was shot multiple times in his upper body and died instantly, according to Harwood.
He was pronounced deceased in the OSF trauma room at 9:26 p.m. after being transported not breathing and with no pulse.
First responders responded at around 8:46 p.m. Monday to the 2000 block of North Gale Avenue on a five-round ShotSpotter alert.
Another person was injured in the shooting.
This is the city’s eighth homicide of the year.
No further information is available.
The case remains under investigation by the police department.
