PEORIA (25News Now) - A man was arrested early Saturday after four ShotSpotter alerts totaling 25-fired rounds.
Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says Evan Michael Julian Carruthers, 21, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and resisting police.
At around 12:34 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of the 800 block of East Gift.
When officers arrived, they saw a vehicle leaving the location at a high rate of speed, following it and attempting to pull it over.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle crashed into a residence at Sherwood and Richwoods.
No one inside was injured.
Officers observed a man, later identified as Carruthers, exit the vehicle and flee on foot. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
A loaded handgun was found inside his vehicle, according to Roth.
