Police mourn the loss of a faithful friend

KNOX COUNTY (25News Now) - Juri, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office beloved K9 Juri has died.

Juri had a sudden medical emergency and passed away, according to an announcement posted on the department’s Facebook page.

“Juri was a phenomenal asset to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Taskforce.” the sheriff’s office said.

The dog’s handler was the sheriff himself, Jack Harlan.

Juri was a beloved member of the sheriff’s family, the sheriff’s office said.

“There is heartbreak throughout the department and community. Juri will be dearly missed,” the post said.
