Plant sale on pace for record year, benefitting St. Jude

PEORIA (25News Now) -As the weather warms up, the St Jude fundraisers pick up.

And they were getting green in Washington Friday.

The 5th annual plant sale for St. Jude is the event where you pick the plant or plants you want, and the amount you want to donate.

“I think that we should all do what we can to help out. My son had some difficulty with some different medical issues of his own. So we have been there and we have had some struggles. So we know what it’s like to have a kiddo in the hospital. And we just want to give back. St Jude gives so much to so many so we just want to return that,” said Helen Potts, plant sale organizer.

So far, she’s on a roll.

Normally, a two day event that raised $5,000 last year.

Helen tells us she was close to that after the first day Thursday in what is now a three day event.

The St. Jude plant sale runs through Saturday in the 600 block of on Anne street in Washington.
