PEORIA (25News Now) - From fire truck rides to a big summer blowout, check out what’s happening across Central Illinois this weekend!
Honor & Glory 5k Run/Walk
To honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, Peoria’s Springdale Cemetery is hosting a 5K run and walk. Participants will go through one of the state’s oldest cemeteries in a beautiful, park-like setting.
When: May 27 at 8:00 a.m. (packet pick-up begins at 7:00 a.m.)
Where: Springdale Cemetery, 3014 N. Prospect Road in Peoria
Cost: $35 for the 5K | $20 for the one mile walk | $30 for the virtual 5K

Vintage Fire Truck Rides
Take your family to the Wheels O’ Time Museum and enjoy rides in the 1931 Ahrens Fox fire truck. Six to eight people can ride in the vintage truck at a time, and it will run two to three times per hour. Rides are free with museum admission or membership, but donations to support maintenance of the truck are always appreciated.
When: May 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Wheels O’ Time Museum, 1710 W. Woodside Drive in Dunlap

Peoria Grown Pop-Up
Get hands on with your health at the Peoria Riverfront Museum! Peoria Grown, a local non-profit working to improve individual and community wellness by making affordable produce more accessible, will be out on the Sun Plaza with live food demos, activities, and challenges. This includes a dance party led by Studio Z! There will also be opportunities to talk to a licensed dietitian.
When: May 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Corny’s Big Summer Blowout
The Corn Crib is celebrating the return of baseball with a big summer blowout. The Cornbelters will have a Saturday night fireworks extravaganza, character appearances, face painting, and more! There will also be local nonprofits and fundraising initiatives from throughout McLean County.
When: May 27 at 4:00 p.m.
Where: The Corn Crib, 1000 W. Raab Road in Normal

4th Annual Wild Bill Days
Join the LaSalle County Historical Society for the 4th Annual Wild Bill Days! There will be re-enactments of the life and times of LaSalle County native, Wild Bill Hickok, in addition to blacksmithing demos, special museum exhibits, and more family fun.
When: May 27 & 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: LaSalle County Historical Society Museum, 101 E. Canal Street in North Utica
