PEORIA (25News Now) - Sunny and dry weather will continue for most of our forecast with increasing temperatures over the next few days. Highs will eventually climb into the 90s next week with rain chances finally returning to our forecast late next week.

Memorial Day Weekend:

Expect plenty of sunshine over the next few days, which will be good for any outdoor plans that you may have. Highs will be seasonal tomorrow in the upper 70s, but we’ll climb into the low 80s on Saturday, mid 80s on Sunday, and then upper 80s on Memorial Day.

Next Week:

Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will continue for most of next week. Highs will soar into the low 90s for the middle and next of next week with overnight lows near 70.

A few showers and storms will be possible again late next week, especially on Friday and Saturday. For now, those chances are only about 30%.

Dry Conditions:

The latest Drought Monitor was released today and it showed an expansion of abnormally dry conditions across Central Illinois.

With no rain in our forecast until the end of next week, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a further expansion next week or even an introduction of some Moderate Drought conditions.

Most of Central Illinois is abnormally dry due to a lack of rainfall this month.
