No injuries reported after apartment fire in far north Peoria
PEORIA (25News Now) - No one was injured after an apartment fire in Peoria.
Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Rada says in a release that firefighters were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of West Marigold around 11:53 a.m. for a report of an apartment fire.
Arriving firefighters found flames coming from the rear balcony area of a three-story building.
The exterior sprinkler system was activated, however firefighters had to use two lines to fully extinguish the fire.
The building was checked for fire extension with most of the damage on the exterior two balconies of the building.
All apartments were evacuated.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Damage is estimated at $20,000.
