Man arrested after allegedly bringing illegal drugs into Peoria County Courthouse

PEORIA (25News Now) - A man was arrested Wednesday after the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office says courthouse security found a large amount of illegal drugs on him - along with having a warrant.
James W. Coates was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and a traffic warrant after the sheriff’s office said around 30 grams of powder cocaine, around five grams of crack cocaine an over 50 methamphetamine pills were allegedly found hidden in a second pair of sweatpants.
The drugs were all allegedly separated and packaged for sale.
Coates was booked into the Peoria County Jail.
