EAST PEORIA (25News Now) - East Peoria Police Chief Rich Brodrick is retiring after 23-years of service.
Mayor John Kahl confirmed the Brodrick’s departure on Thursday, saying two deputy chiefs will run the department until the city council appoints Brodrick’s replacement.
“We greatly appreciate his selfless service to our community and wish him nothing but the best in his retirement,” the mayor told 25News.
Brodrick spent more than two decades as a police officer. He replaced former Chief Steve Roegge who resigned in October 2020. At the time, Kahl noted Brodrick was the first chief in 20 years who was hired from within the department.
Brodrick’s last day on the job will be Monday.
