PEKIN (25News Now) - The driver of a semi was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries after his semi was struck by a train near the intersection of Route 29 and Koch Street in Pekin.

Preliminary information provided by Illinois State Police indicates the driver attempted to cross the tracks on private property and was struck.

The trailer on the semi was torn open and the truck was pushed into a utility pole and natural gas structure.

No one on the train was reportedly injured.

The incident happened near Ox Industries, a producer of paperboard, according to its website.

The railroad line is owned by the Illinois & Midland Railroad, according to Tazewell County GIS records.
