PEORIA (25News Now) - Police are investigating after a United States Postal Service mail carrier was robbed at gunpoint midday Monday.
Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says officers were called at around 12:35 p.m. to the intersection of Western and Sherman - finding a postal worker who had been robbed at gunpoint in the 1800 block of Ayres while delivering mail.
The postal worker told police he was approached by two juvenile males wearing masks.
One of those suspects pointed a handgun at the postal worker and stole his key ring containing mailbox keys.
Both suspects ran eastbound on Ayres.
A check of the area yielded negative results.
The postal worker was not injured.
