Peoria Riverfront Museum welcomes international art

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria’s Riverfront Museum welcomed an international guest for its latest collection of art.

Dr. Michel Mawad, the President of the Lebanese American University in Beirut paid a visit to the museum to dedicate art from Lebanese artists. Dr. Mawad hopes visitors get a chance to appreciate the purity and value of Lebanese artists and stressed the importance of continuing to exchange cultures and ideas. “Diversity makes the world go on and makes the earth turn around. We need to be diverse. We need to appreciate other cultures; we need to appreciate each other. We’re truly a gift to each other.”

Several Lebanese artists donated pieces to be permanently displayed at the museum.
