Funeral route announced for fallen Pekin officer
The funeral is Wednesday
PEKIN (25News Now) - The Pekin Police Department has announced the funeral procession route for fallen officer Daniel Graber.
Pekin Police Chief John Dossey says services for Graber will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, at 500 N 4th Street.
The procession will leave the funeral home sometime around 11:15-11:30 a.m. and will travel south on 4th Street to Court, head west on Court to Capitol, south on Capitol to past the Pekin City Hall, then east on Broadway to Court, then east on Court to Veterans, then north to Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Today, Tuesday, is the wake for Graber. Visitation is open to the public from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dossey encourages the community to line the procession route to show support for Graber and the law enforcement community.
Anyone driving in the area Wednesday should be alert for the procession, people standing to observe and any traffic delays.
Dossey says the department appreciates all the support.
