Peoria priest posts bond after DUI arrest

PEORIA (25News Now) - A Catholic priest in Peoria was arrested and booked in the Peoria County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend.
Jeremy M. Freehill was arrested for DUI, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving 15-20 mph over the speed limit, according to the Peoria County Sheriff commitment report.
Freehill is listed as the parish priest for Saint Ann’s Catholic Church on the websites for the church and the diocese, having been the leader of that church since 2021.
According to the report, Freehill was booked at 2:11 a.m. Saturday and released at 2:26 a.m after posting $160.
His next court date is 1:30 p.m. June 27.
