PEORIA (25News Now) - From spring markets to a mobile taphouse, take a look at what’s happening in our area.

Spring Makers Market

Looking for authentic goods? Find them at DESTIHL Brewery’s Spring Makers Market, their first outdoor market of the season. On the brewery’s lawn, find services and products that honor the ideals of American craftsmanship, many made from materials such as wood, clay, glass, textiles, leather, and metal. You’ll also find products made from ethically-sourced materials. Either way, you’ll be sure to find something unique!

When: May 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

3rd Sunday Market

Shop antiques, collectibles, crafts, and garden decor from 450 vendors at the 3rd Sunday Market. It has been a tradition of Bloomington since 1988 and is rated among the nation’s finest by Country Living Magazine, Flea Market Monthly, and Auction Action News.

When: May 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Interstate Center in Bloomington

Cruisin’ Corn Country

Head to Funk Farms Premium Beef in Shirley for Crusin’ Corn Country Antique Car and Tractor Show! All vehicles are welcome — classic, custom, tractors, trucks, motorcycles, and antiques. The event will also feature a raffle, music, and food.

When: May 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

MLB Pitch Hit & Run Competition

Have your day in full swing at the Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run Competition, hosted by Normal Parks and Recreation. This is a one-day, free event for boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Participants will compete in two levels of a skills competition for either softball or baseball. Those at the top of their game will advance to the National Finals, hosted at an MLB park during All-Star Week. You can register on-site for the event, but those looking to participate must bring their birth certificate.

When: May 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Maxwell Park South Fields in Normal

Parks on Tap

Donovan Park, the Parks on Tap Taphouse is coming to you! The family-friendly event will feature food and entertainment, in addition to a mobile taphouse with beer (and a non-beer option). There will also be yard games! Proceeds will go towards the Peoria Park District Legacy Fund, which supports the long-term preservation of parks, green spaces, trails, and natural areas.

When: May 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Les Misérables

Don’t miss the Central Illinois Ballet’s tragically beautiful performance of Les Misérables at Illinois Central College. After 19 years in prison for petty theft, follow the redemption story of Jean Valjean as a war devastates the people of France. It is a story of love, bravery, and hope.

Pop-Up Cat Cafe

Cats of Woodford County is teaming up with Bear’s Bites for a pop-up cat cafe. Enjoy a cup of coffee while and play with amazing, adoptable cats.
