Catalytic converters stolen off Peoria school buses Wed. morning

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Public Schools and Peoria Police are investigating the theft of 10 catalytic converters off district buses earlier Wednesday.

The district says the suspects and their vehicle were caught on camera and that footage was sent to police

Cages covering the converters are being installed on buses to prevent future thefts. The suspects failed to steal from other vehicles because they had cages on them.

The buses impacted were the only ones without cages and were awaiting final shipment.

All PPS busses are now caged.
