Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair

The 2023 Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair is here! Prospect Road in the heart of the Heights will be closed to traffic for the event to display art from over 60 local and regional artists. In addition to art, there will be music, food from local restaurants, and a special area for kids to create their own art.

When: May 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Where: Prospect Road in Peoria Heights

Old State Hospital Bazaar

Spend your weekend at a bazaar on the old Peoria State Hospital grounds! It’s more than a common vendor fair — it’s a flea market, an art show, and a craft show combined into one event. You’ll also be able to find information on historical and paranormal tours, meet local authors, view Peoria State Hospital museum displays, and grab food.

When: May 13 & 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

TAPS Open House

TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin is hosting an open house! The public is invited to view cats and dogs available for adoption from TAPS. There will also be dogs from Tazewell County Animal Control (TCAC) and Stray Animal Midway Shelter. The event is a combined effort to promote adoption right here in Central Illinois. A bake sale will also be going on, with proceeds to be split between TAPS and TCAC.

When: May 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

New Peoria Riverfront Museum Exhibits

The Peoria Riverfront Museum is getting two new exhibits — both about health and the human body. ‘Body Worlds RX,’ an exhibition about life, offers an overview of what’s inside the human body. It shows different parts of the body in varying conditions and gives visitors a chance to reflect. The other exhibit called ‘Heart’ features the first-ever 4D model of a human heart, created by the OSF Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center. Both exhibits will be on display throughout the summer.

PNC Worldwide Day of Play

Join in on the fun and celebrate 10 years of the PNC Worldwide Day of Play at Glen Oak Park in Peoria. Meet friends from “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” play games, get your face painted, jump around in a bounce house, and participate in other activities. While in Glen Oak Park, you can also visit the Peoria Zoo and the Peoria Playhouse Children’s Museum for just $3 at each location.

When: May 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Free Family Day at Tipton Park North

Get your family out and about for an active day at Tipton Park North in Bloomington. The free family day will feature games, crafts, activities, inflatable fun, and more. Local organizations will also be on-site to provide information about keeping your family active throughout the summer.

When: May 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Where: Tipton Park North, 2201 Stone Mountain Road in Bloomington
