(25News Now) - More tickets were punched to the girls track state finals on Thursday. At the Class 3A Bloomington Sectional, Normal Community’s Ali Ince had another dominant performance. The junior star won the 400 and 800 individually and provided the anchor leg for the Iron’s wins in the 4x800 and 4x400 relays. The Iron won the team sectional title.
At the Class 2A Galesburg sectional, Peoria Richwoods had a big day, winning both the 4x100 and 4x200 on their way to a team sectional title.
At the Class 1A Dee-Mack sectional, Tremont’s Cambria Geyer put in another terrific performance. The senior swept both the 100 and 300 hurdles and won the 200 for the Turks.
In softball, the teams at the top of the Mid-Illini conference continue to win. Conference leader Metamora topped Limestone 13-0 behind a perfect game from sophomore Nora Johnson. Meanwhile, Washington went on the road and beat Dunlap 7-1.
In baseball, Canton outlasted Dee-Mack 14-9 in a wild nine-inning affair.
It was a special day for Normal U-High basketball as four of their standouts signed to play college hoops.
