PEORIA (25News Now) - The first trips to state of the high school track and field season were secured on Wednesday. At the Class 1A Farmington girls track sectional, Eureka put together a dominant effort, winning 7 events en route to a team sectional title. Stark County’s Lindley Johnston won 3 events individually for the Rebels.

In boys track, it’s conference championship week and the Big Twelve Conference meet was held Wednesday night at Peoria Richwoods. Normal West won the team title.

In baseball, make it a Mid-Illini three-peat for Washington. The Panthers clinched their third straight outright conference title with a 8-4 win over Canton on Wednesday night. Elsewhere in the conference, Dunlap outlasted Morton 1-0 in a pitchers duel. In Big Twelve Conference action, Peoria Notre Dame topped Peoria Richwoods 6-2 in a neighborhood rivalry.

In softball, Normal Community won a slugfest against Olympia 10-8. Elsewhere, Illini Bluffs went on the road and beat Morton 9-7.

In soccer, Peoria Notre Dame scored two goals in the game’s final 20 minutes to tie Rochester 2-2.

In lacrosse, Washington stormed past Bloomington-Normal 11-0.
