25 Sports High School Tuesday - May 9, 2023
(25News Now) - It’s conference championship week in high school track and Tuesday brought us a couple of big conference meets. In the Mid-Illini Conference, the host Redbirds won the boys conference title at Metamora by one point over Morton. In the Heart of Illinois Conference, Eureka won the boys conference title at Heyworth.
In soccer, conference leaders were in action Tuesday. In the Mid-Illini Conference, conference leader Dunlap fell 3-0 to Metamora. Meanwhile, second-place Morton went on the road to beat Washington 2-0. The Eagles and the Potters are co-Mid-Illini champions. In the Big Twelve Conference, Peoria Notre Dame wrapped up the conference title with a 8-0 win over Bloomington.
In softball, Mid-Illini leader Metamora got a revenge win, 4-1 against Pekin. Elsewhere, second-place Washington out battled East Peoria 2-1.
In Big Twelve Conference baseball, Normal Community got an impressive 8-7 win over Bloomington in a crosstown rivalry matchup. Meanwhile, Normal West beat Peoria Notre Dame 11-4.
