PEORIA (25News) - Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria is sending out a warning, his department will not tolerate crime and other reckless behavior this summer.
Echevarria spoke with 25News to say Friday night was a particularly busy one, especially downtown.
A series of skid marks from tires were left by the Riverfront. The chief says police made four arrests in the downtown area late Friday night.
He says with the weather heating up, police will work diligently to make sure those who are causing a disturbance like the caravan parties will be held accountable with arrests imminent.
”We will assign detectives to view videos and we will follow up on those videos and if we have to come on site, if we have to come make an arrest, we have to come tow your car on a later date, we will do that. We are not going to tolerate any crime that happens in our city. As I’m talking today we’re not going to tolerate any crime in our downtown,” said Echevarria
The skid marks were found on both on Water and Main Streets downtown.
