Bloomington Mayor Mboka Mwilambwe said he listed some of his priorities and projects that might need federal government assistance.

“We have put on his radar for the Lincoln Leisure Center, to fix some of the HVAC issues particularly for the summer when people have to use it,” said Mwilambwe.

“There are a number of (projects) we want to bring to his attention,” the mayor said.

Sorensen, a former TV meteorologist, took office in January, representing a district that includes the Twin Cities, Peoria, the Quad Cities and Rockford.
