“It’s just right up my alley”: BCC star Cole Certa lays out why he chose Notre Dame
(25News Now) - College recruiting often comes down to relationships and that was certainly the driving factor for Bloomington Central Catholic star Cole Certa in his decision to commit to Notre Dame.
Certa had a slew of Power 5 coaches come out to watch him during his AAU season and his first-team all-state season with the Saints and one of the very first was then Penn State coach Micah Shrewsberry.
They built a close relationship early in Certa’s recruiting process, a relationship that carried on when Shrewsberry was named the head coach at Notre Dame. Ultimately, Certa says it was that relationship that led to him choosing the Fighting Irish over the likes of other options like Illinois, Northwestern and Nebraska among others.
Certa is thrilled to be a part of the Irish family and to make the decision to play Division I, ACC basketball.
