Easterseals looks for more workers ahead of summer camp
HUDSON (25News Now) - Staffing shortages have impacted almost every industry and summer camp is no exception.
It’s Easterseals Central Illinois’ fully inclusive and accessible camp for people with disabilities in Hudson.
Easterseals provides specialized pediatric therapy and other resources for children with disabilities, developmental delays and other special needs.
Without more counselors, more campers are forced to sit on a waitlist.
”It can be devastating and heartbreaking. We have some friends that come to camp, and they look forward to it every single summer because they know it’s that one place where they can be accepted for exactly who they are despite how their brain or how their body might work,” said Easterseals Central Illinois Community Engagement Manager Molly Hogeboom.
The camp starts in June with various programs throughout the summer.
