(25News Now) - After winning back-to-back state championships the last two seasons, Illini Bluffs softball certainly has their eye on a three-peat. But the way in which they win games this year may look a little different than in years past.

After graduating ace pitcher and now Bradley standout Kierston McCoy, the Tigers are now utilizing a freshman and a sophomore in the circle. That means they’re relying a bit more heavily on the offense this year and the bats have responded.

IB is averaging nearly 10 runs per game to start the season and they have confidence in their offense to power them back to the IHSA State Finals.
