(25News Now) - The annual Hits for the Cure softball tournament wrapped up on Saturday with $21,000 being donated to the Heller Center for Kids with Cancer thanks to funds raised throughout the year.
A couple of local teams picked up wins in games at Hits for the Cure on Saturday. Brimfield edged Dunlap 4-3 in a tight game. Meanwhile, Canton rolled past Champaign Centennial 10-0 in a dominant effort. The Little Giants also beat Sterling later in the day.
And it was a special day for Dunlap’s Cenek family as sisters Sierra and Sammi faced off against each other in a college soccer spring scrimmage match. Little sister Sammi’s Illinois State Redbirds got the best of big sister Sierra’s UIS Prairie Stars 3-1.
