Canton man arrested for alleged production, possession of child pornography

PEORIA (25News Now) - A Canton man has been arrested after an investigation into the possession of child pornography.
Illinois State Police say Jonathan E. Allard, 24, was arrested for the production and possession of child pornography.
State police say an investigation was started in January 2022 after learning someone was in possession of child pornography through an online platform.
During the investigation, digital evidence was gathered indicating Allard was producing and possessing child pornography.
Access to digital evidence was gained through an advancement in technology, according to state police, which led to the discovery of child pornography in February 2023.
The Fulton County State’s Attorney filed charges against Allard Tuesday and he was taken into custody Wednesday by state police after an arrest warrant was issued.
He was transported to the Fulton County Jail where he remains with a bond set at $100,000.
