Wanted man arrested on weapons-related charges, warrant

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police have arrested a man wanted on numerous weapons-related charges and an active warrant after being located with the help of a license plate reader.
Spokesperson Semone Roth says Dwayne D. Daye was arrested after a brief foot chase.
Officers found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine on his person during a search.
He was arrested for armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated domestic battery, possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID, resisting police and an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.
Officers located Daye’s vehicle at around 3:22 p.m. Tuesday with the help of a license plate camera.
He was observed exiting the vehicle in the 900 block of Howett.
He fled on foot when officers approached.
