Bloomington Central Catholic freshman Isaiah Whitaker soaring to track stardom

(25News Now) - Bloomington Central Catholic freshman Isaiah Whitaker may only be a freshman, but he’s already more than making a nice for himself on the track scene.
Whitaker not only won the unofficial indoor state championship in the pole vault at last week’s Illinois Top Times meet, he shattered the Class 1A meet record, soaring 16 feet, 6 and 3/4 inches on his way to the state title.
Last summer at the AAU Junior Olympics, Whitaker set an age group world record in the pole vault.
His early success in the sport has left him chasing big goals of a future trip to the Olympic Games.
