PEORIA (25News Now) - Skies will trend mostly clear through this evening before clouds increase again overnight. A low-pressure system will swing overhead throughout the day, so a few light rain showers will be possible through the morning and early afternoon. During the daytime hours, if we are able to generate enough energy, we can see some isolated thunderstorms develop, mainly east of the river. As these storms move east, they can strengthen to severe level and could bring some damaging winds to those along and east of I-55. Just be heads up late afternoon and evening just in case a few of these thunderstorms do develop. Highs Sunday will be in the mid 50s and skies will be mostly cloudy.

We’ll trend drier for the first half of next week, but temperatures will still be slightly below average in the upper 40s low 50s through Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will feature a big warm up with highs possibly near 60 Thursday and upper 60s Friday. Of course, the warmer weather will come with rain and storm chances for the second half of Thursday and much of Friday. We may see this rainy activity carry into Saturday, but the weekend is looking drier.

After a warmer Sunday, temperatures will trend below average for the first half of the work week.
