PEORIA (25News Now) - Local students had the chance to put their ideas into business. Students and their teams showcased their products in this year’s Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation’s ‘Big Idea’ Competition.

Twenty-five groups advanced to the trade show round, in which the public gets to decide who moves on.

Alex Kuscsik, a student who presented his product 2-Step-2-Sanitize says the competition gives students the chance to take their business ideas to the next level. “The first-place prize out of the top 6 teams for the next round wins $8,000 from the school, the second-place prize I believe is $4,000, third place is $2,000, fourth place is $1,000. We’re aiming for that number one spot, that $8,000 that would be great, and it would help launch our business forward even more.”

After the judges tally the votes, the best projects will advance to the finals in April.
