UPDATE: Woman identified with help from missing person report, name currently withheld
UPDATE 3:54 P.M. - The woman found near the RiverPlex earlier Tuesday has been identified.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says the name of the 58-year-old is being withheld pending notification of other family members.
Harwood says the identification was made with help from a missing person’s report that was filed by the family Monday night.
It is estimated she had been deceased likely less than 24 hours.
Autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
The case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.
UPDATE: 2:33 P.M. - The Peoria Fire Department says an extrication and recovery operation was initiated at the directon of the police department and coroner.
Firefighters donned Mustang water rescue suits, deployed a hauling system and removed the body from the river.
Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Stimeling says eight firefighters were used.
UPDATE 1:56 P.M. - Peoria Police Department Sergeant Amy Dotson says the call came in at around 10:46 a.m. to the 600 block of Northeast Water Street for what appeared to be a body floating in the river.
The body was located in an area just north of the RiverPlex and was recovered.
Information about the identity of the individual as well as manner and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.

UPDATE 11:58 A.M. - Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood is not releasing gender or age at this time.
His office is trying to locate next-of-kin.
He says X-rays will be done to determine what if any injuries might have happened that cannot be seen.
Autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
No other possessions were found around the body.
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria first responders are on scene of a body found in the Illinois River.
Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria says a witness walking the path saw the body floating in the river and called 9-1-1.
He says the call came in at around 11 a.m.
No other information is available.
