Cold Sunday, warmer, but wet next week
PEORIA (25News Now) - Temperatures will gradually climb over the next several days after scattered flurries and bitter cold Saturday. Sunday marks the last day of winter, and temperatures will remain cold under sunny skies. While we see warmer temperatures next week, rain will play spoiler.
Winter had it’s last laugh this weekend with colder temperatures setting in. We’ll see improvements temperature wise for Sunday, but we’ll still trend more than 10 degrees below our average daytime highs for this time of year. Expect temperatures in the mid to upper 30′s under sunny skies. Winds will shift from the north to the west throughout the day with gusts up to 15 miles per hour. Wind chill values will trend in the teens today, so keep the layers on hand.
Winds will shift to the south tonight into Monday mornings forecast which will drive out warm up the next couple of days. Mild temperatures are on tap as Spring officially begins at 4:24 PM. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs near 50 degrees.
Rain chances will begin during the second half of Tuesday, followed by several days with on-and-off rain chances. A few storms look possible in Thursday’s forecast, followed by the chance for a rain/snow mix by late Friday.
