Cold through the weekend
PEORIA (25News Now) - Temperatures have taken quite the hit since Thursday afternoon. We’ve fallen from the 50′s all the way to the mid teens early this morning. A few slick spots will be possible this morning as a result of a band of light snow showers passing late St. Patrick’s Day into early this morning. Cold temperatures will rule the weekend before warmer temperatures return along with rain chances next week.
Get bundled up if you have any early morning plans as bitter cold conditions will greet you as you step outside. Strong northwesterly winds continue to blow colder air from Canada into Central Illinois. As a result, wind chills will trend in the single digits to sub-zero for the morning.

Don’t expect much warmth today as temperatures will remain subfreezing with highs in the mid to upper 20′s for most. It’ll be a breezy day as well with gusts up to 30 miles per hour. A few additional flurries will be possible throughout the day.

Our forecast will remain cold Sunday with highs in the upper 30′s to lower 40′s under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will gradually climb through the work week. We’ll trend near the 60 degree mark Wednesday and Thursday, but rain will plain spoiler to the warmer temperatures.
