Sounding the alarm for fire safety

PEORIA (25News Now) - The Peoria Fire Department is teaming up with the American Red Cross for another “Sound the Alarm” campaign to install smoke detectors in all homes in the city.
The National Fire Protection Association says working smoke detectors reduce the chance of dying in a fire by 55%.
It’s such an important life-saving tool, that the fire department makes house calls to install the detectors at no cost.
Peoria residents can sign up online to get the detectors. Information about the program can also be found on the Red Cross website.
