Shots fired at sheriff’s deputies, search for suspect continues

PEORIA (25News Now) - The Peoria County Sheriff’s office is investigating after two deputies were shot at on Peoria’s south side.
The sheriff’s office says both deputies were not injured.
Around 12:15 Thursday, deputies went to the 2800 block of W Ann St. for a four-round ShotSpotter alert.
The suspect began shooting at the two deputies several times. The man ran away and was not found.
While investigating, deputies found two guns and shell casings at the scene. Officials say one of the guns was stolen from Chicago.
The sheriff’s office says there are no suspects in custody as of Thursday morning.
