East Peoria robotics group prepares for World Championship
EAST PEORIA (25News Now) - Some East Peoria high school students are taking their engineering skills to a world platform.
This is Technophobia 15005. Throughout the school year the FTC group designs, builds, programs and operates robots to compete in challenges.
Members also perform work on other forms of stem and teach others.
While we’re told it wasn’t the smoothest start to the robotics season, Thomas Bashusen seems to think the group found their groove.
“It’s honestly pretty surreal. At the beginning of the year we had quite a few struggles that we didn’t even know that we’d make it to the state competition. So, it was a gratifying feeling knowing our hard work paid off, said Bashusen.
However, getting to the World Competition in Houston is a pricey endeavor. The group is hoping this Go Fund Me will help them get there.
Metamora High School also has a group eligible for worlds in a different category.
