Peoria Police want public’s help to find stolen car tied to unsolved Oct. 2022 homicide
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police said Tuesday night they’re looking for a stolen car they believe was used in the fatal shooting in October of last year on the city’s south side.
Couriaun Atkins, 23, was shot to death in the 2900 block of West Seibold Street, between South Idaho and Oregon Streets, during the pre-dawn hours of Saturday, Oct. 22.
Tuesday, investigators released a photo of a 2016 Dodge Charger SRT that was stolen from a Mattoon car dealership on Oct. 8.
Police say the vehicle’s VIN number is 2C3CDXEJXGH129689. It’s an SRT trim model with “392″ badging on both sides of the vehicle. It had a fictitious license plate according to police.
Investigators are asking the public’s help to find the car.
